keepingabreast is about a single young woman, Mina and her journey to explore society’s emphasis on breasts as she makes a difficult decision regarding her treatment after she is diagnosed with breast cancer. Young women face many different struggles than older breast cancer patients. They are still in the their child-bearing years and the effects of cancer treatment can prevent them, not only from breast feeding, but also from conceiving. Younger breast cancer patients often have difficulty with self-esteem and having the confidence to date. keepingabreast uses comedy, cynicism and a touching story to address a very real issue.
